The Cowboys injury list is long, but at least it is trending in the right direction. Of course, the big concern is about Dak Prescott’s throwing shoulder which has been termed by some sources as a AC joint sprain. Earlier today Jason Garrett sounded pretty pessimistic about Prescott practicing much this week, but he did seem to infer he could play as he talked about Dak’s command of the offense and his ability to play without practicing. In today’s practice, like yesterday, Prescott was limited but it’s unlikely he really participated in any throwing.
The Cowboys did get some important players upgraded today. Tyron Smith was a limited participant in practice. Earlier today, Garrett mentioned that Smith could now kind of see out of his eye and that he would likely practice with a shield in his helmet. Also upgraded to limited were defenders Michael Bennett and Sean Lee. That’s especially good news with Lee since the linebacker corps is decimated by injury. Joe Thomas was unable to practice again today.
La’el Collins and Zack Martin were limited which is par for the course with those two, they will be fine to play. Chris Jones was also limited like last week so he should be good to go.
Jourdan Lewis was a full participant after being limited yesterday. Leighton Vander Esch and C.J. Goodwin didn’t practice.
