Amari Cooper on re-signing with the Cowboys: I love it here. I want to be here.

Sounds like Amari Cooper wants to stay.

The Dallas Cowboys did not play a football game on Sunday but, shocker here, there was news concerning their team. One report speculated that America’s Team might lose Amari Cooper and Byron Jones to free agency, both players are in contract years so they will technically be free agents. NFL teams can utilize both the franchise and transition tags in the offseason of 2020 under the current CBA, a point that the report in question got incorrect, so there’s no telling who is going to be back for the Cowboys quite yet.

Obviously this is a huge talking point and Amari Cooper was asked about his future on Monday. Remember that this is like a Thursday for the Cowboys which is why they’re doing media sessions. Cooper is focused on his job and likes where he’s at. Good for him.

The Dallas Cowboys will have a lot of work to do in the front office when this season ultimately ends and that work might include finding a new head coach. Whoever is coaching the Cowboys next season will likely want to have Amari Cooper as part of the equation.

Who wouldn’t besides Jon Gruden?
