Which ones should the Cowboys bring back?

It’s over. Finished. Done. The 2019 Dallas Cowboys season has officially come to a close and all that is left is a lot of work to be done for next year.

We have no idea who will be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. There are shockingly still a sector of people who believe that it will be Jason Garrett, but until that option is 100% ruled out it isn’t really impossible, is it? The last decade has taught us that.

In order for Jason Garrett to stay in charge of the Cowboys, he would have to get a new deal from the team as his current one is expiring. He is actually not the only coach who’s deal is up, here is a list of all of five.

Dallas Cowboys coaches with expiring contracts in 2020

  • Jason Garrett
  • Rod Marinelli
  • Kris Richard
  • Ben Bloom
  • Leon Lett

It’s not hard to see that it is primarily on the defensive side of the ball where the Cowboys do not have coaches signed through next season. Of course, if there is a new head coach in town, the contracts of the offensive staff won’t mean much if they want to move on, but it’s worth knowing that the likes of Kellen Moore are technically under contract for now.

Which of these five should the Cowboys try to keep, if any? At one point in time people thought that Kris Richard would be the team’s next coach, those days are in the rearview mirror.

NFL Network’s Jane Slater added these bits as far as coaches and contracts are concerned.
