To the shock of many, we’ve gone a few months without talking about Earl Thomas and his connection to the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe the world is going to end or something.
Thomas and Dallas seemed like two dancers that were eyeing each other from across the floor all night long leading up to the NFL’s trade deadline. It was a connection born out of Thomas running to the Cowboys locker room after a Christmas Eve game in 2017, the whole thing was heightened all the more when Dallas visited Seattle back in Week 3.
The Seahawks won that game (Dallas won the one that mattered in the playoffs) and it was a particularly hurtful day as Thomas had two interceptions. After the game he told reporters that Cowboys coaches had told him they’d “see him soon”, hinting at an inevitable trade, but nothing ever happened and unfortunately Thomas was lost for the season just a few weeks later.
Since Thomas did announce that the Dallas coaches talked to him, the NFL apparently felt it necessary to see if Dallas tampered with the situation. Their findings are in and no harm was done.
One piece of news that recently popped up and may be relevant when free agency arrives: Earlier in the fall, the NFL inquired into possible tampering by the #Cowboys regarding #Seahawks S Earl Thomas, sources say. The team cooperated fully, and the league found no wrongdoing.

Earl Thomas is going to be a free agent very soon. If the Cowboys want to ultimately make things happen they don’t have to tamper, they just have to get it done.
