If you love the Cowboys, you owe a debt of gratitude to Gil Brandt. Alongside Tex Schramm and Tom Landry he helped morph them into the crown jewel of the National Football League, earning the nickname America’s Team along the way. At long last Mr. Brandt will join his two friends in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a different sort of triplets for Dallas.
Gil was enshrined into the Cowboys Ring of Honor back in November when Dallas knocked off the New Orleans Saints. Who he is and what he has meant to both the Cowboys and the NFL as a whole cannot be quantified, one of the many reasons why he now resides in the game’s most elite and immortal fraternity.
Congratulations to Gil Brandt on entering the Pro Football Hall of Fame!
