There’s a lot of history with the Dallas Cowboys, in large part because of the people that have been part of the organization.
A large piece of that history got his due a few weeks ago when Gil Brandt was selected as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019. Brandt’s contributions, not to just the Cowboys but to the National Football League as a whole, are without question worthy of a bust in Canton, OH.
Of course, the bronze bust is just one piece of the HOF process. There’s also the gold jacket and the enshrinement ceremony that kicks off the NFL preseason. Each inductee gives a speech after they are presented by someone. Presenters range from former teammates/coaches to family members/spouses. It’s always great to see who inductees choose to send them into football’s most immortal fraternity.
Mr. Brandt has made his selection. Jerry Jones will present him into Canton.

This is quite a testament to time healing all wounds as Jerry Jones and Gil Brandt went their separates ways shortly after the former purchased the team 30 years ago. Brandt’s time and accomplishments with the Cowboys precede Jones’ ownership, but this past November that all seemed irrelevant when Jones announced Brandt entering the Ring of Honor.
Jones has presented other Cowboys in the past as well. Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, and Larry Allen all also selected him for the honor. Jerry chose his wife Gene Jones when he went into the Hall three years ago.
It will be quite the night when Brandt goes in.
