The Dallas Cowboys brought in free agent safety George Iloka for a visit on Friday, the third safety they have met with over the free agency period. Clayton Geathers re-signed with his former team, the Indianapolis Colts, and Eric Berry came and left without a deal. That holds true for Iloka as no agreement was reached today.

Iloka would be more of a discounted signing than Berry, considering he was let go last year by the Bengals, picked up by the Vikings, but struggled to find meaningful playing time. He wasn’t a great fit for that scheme but given his size he could operate more as a box safety in the Cowboys Cover 1/Cover 3 scheme.

The Cowboys could be checking in with Iloka to see what kind of money he wants while they are still considering Eric Berry’s future plans. There still have been no further developments with Berry’s free agency plans, leaving the Cowboys as the only team he has visited.
