Film Room: Randall Cobb brings his offensive prowess to Dallas

Cobb has proven he has the speed and the vision.

The Cowboys have gone through some major changes to their offensive passing game over the past few years. First, they moved on from Dez Bryant and acquired Amari Cooper to fill that void. Then they lost Cole Beasley in free agency to the Buffalo Bills.

Fortunately, the Cowboys have managed to upgrade once again. Former Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb joins the team in 2019 and looks to be another playmaker for Dak Prescott.

This episode of Film Room takes us back to Week 1 of the 2018 season, when Cobb was still with Green Bay. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers targets Cobb on a key third down late in the game. Cobb makes a great catch to move the chains, but he is not done there. He uses not only his speed, but his vision as a runner to set up blocks and avoid would-be tackles taking the ball 75 yards for the go ahead score.

Cobb demonstrates that great speed is not just about being able to take the top off of the defense, it is also about being able to make plays with the ball in your hands. No doubt Cobb will be an exciting addition to the Cowboys offense in 2019.
