Don’t worry, Ezekiel Elliott has reported to the start of the Cowboys offseason program

Everything seems okay between the Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott.

Before the 2018 season ended for the Dallas Cowboys, it was reported that Ezekiel Elliott wanted a contract extension in the offseason. We’re in that offseason.

Elliott is one of the best running backs in the NFL. He’s led the league in rushing in two of his three seasons, the one that he didn’t carries a notable asterisk, and has served as the identity of the team’s offense from the moment his name was called at the draft three years ago.

It was for this reason that talks of an extension had some folks worried. When players want contract extensions they often don’t report to non-mandatory team events, events like the beginning of the offseason program which is Monday for the Cowboys. That won’t be the case for Zeke as he’s there, he even posted it on Instagram to prove it.

Contracts have been the story for the Cowboys this offseason. They finally locked down DeMarcus Lawrence to a long-term extension but still have the matters of Zeke, Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Byron Jones and all sorts of other things to tend to. For now it doesn’t seem like those will be issues, but we are only in April.

Kudos to Zeke for showing up and not making this more complicated than it has to be.
