Some Cowboys players are headed on a nice trip together

Cowboys hang together.

It’s important for football teams to get along. They spend a lot of time together after all.

Many believe that it’s critical for teams to be closer than that. In an ideal world a football team is a family, these are players that fight for one another on a weekly basis for goodness sake.

This hasn’t seemed to be a problem for the Dallas Cowboys over the last couple of years. You’ll remember that last summer a handful of leadership council members went on a fishing trip together, with it finally being warm enough to hit the water it looks like they’re at it again.

Obviously Jason Witten is back in the fold and is a leader on the team, the group keeping him young is fun to see. It’s also worth noting that Joe Looney is now part of the contingent. What he did for the Cowboys last season was enormous and his prominence has clearly grown.

You want to know what else sticks out about the group photo? Connor Williams got big. It’s interesting that this would surface on the day of the 2019 NFL Draft due to it being the almost one-year anniversary of Williams joining the team, and when he did so it was obvious then that he was going to need to beef up. The beef is there.

Here’s to hoping the Cowboys have a fun time wherever they’re headed. Togetherness is always a good thing.
