The 2019 NFL Draft got going on Thursday night and as there has been every year, there was a watch party with the Dallas Cowboys.
This is typically an event where fans can come, play a few games, and snag a few autographs. One of the players on hand was new wide receiver Randall Cobb, who also spoke to the media for the first time since he joined America’s Team.
Cobb obviously discussed joining the Cowboys and everything that went into it all. Interestingly one thing that he shared was that he told Dak Prescott back in February to go get him (in free agency).
My favorite @rcobb18 story tonight: He told Cowboys QB Dak Prescott over Super Bowl weekend: “Hey man, come get me.” And they did! pic.twitter.com/ItQZFOfJAB

We were at the NFL Honors back in February and I was like, ‘hey man, come get me!’.”
Dallas was in the market for a slot receiver basically once free agency began, but Cole Beasley departing for the Buffalo Bills cemented the notion that they had to grab someone. Thankfully Cobb was available as he’s a player with some special skills.
Interestingly enough Cobb also noted that Beasley’s departure likely played a role in his arrival in Big D. Things tend to work out like that sometimes.
Randall Cobb said he thought Dallas was a possibility when Cole Beasley signed with Buffalo: “I definitely believe in this team. I felt like I wanted to be on a team that was a contender and I definitely believe that we have the ability, it’s just putting the pieces together.”
