It’s been a quiet offseason for fourth-year running back Ezekiel Elliott. All reports have been positive surrounding the two-time Pro Bowler both in the locker room, on the field, and off the field. That is, up until today when TMZ.com released a video of Ezekiel Elliott using his body to push a security guard for a music festival to the ground.
Elliott was later handcuffed but not formally arrested. The 23-year-old running back is coming off a 1,434 yard season after helping lead the Cowboys to the NFC divisional round game. As you can see from the TMZ video, Elliott was wandering around the festival after what appeared to be a minor argument with a female companion and looking frustrated, before later knocking a security staff member to the ground with his chest.
Based on Elliott’s past history with the NFL, this this could lead to the NFL doing a little more investigating. Thankfully, no one was injured, and no arrest was made, but it’s not the best look for Elliott. This news is coming soon after the NFL announced its investigation into Tyrone Crawford’s bar incident back in March. Cowboys fans would love an offseason where their favorite players aren’t in the news for fighting or suspensions.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this once/if the NFL gets involved.
