May wasn’t exactly a great month as far as Ezekiel Elliott headlines are concerned, but as the calendar page turns so too does the point of optimism.
The Dallas Cowboys continued OTA action on Wednesday and afterwards met with the local media to discuss the latest and greatest. A lot of hype surrounds rookie running back Tony Pollard (who an awful lot of people are comparing to New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, that will be hard to live up to), but he wasn’t the only runner the Cowboys took this year. The team also drafted Mike Weber who replaced Zeke at the Ohio State.
You may have seen on social media over the last few weeks that Weber has posted a few Instagram stories from what looks like Elliott’s house. A lot of people assumed this was simply out of their Columbus-based friendship, but it’s actually more than that. According to Pollard, Elliott has been hosting cookouts and general get-togethers for the running backs at his house. That’s great to see.

Ezekiel Elliott is entering his fourth year with the Cowboys and is one of the mainstays on the offense, heck the whole team. He’s been part of their leadership group before and it’s fantastic to see him doing something like this. It’s what leaders do.
You might also remember that during the All or Nothing series from Amazon that we saw a year ago (which chronicled the 2017 season for the Cowboys) we saw the running backs get together at Gary Brown’s house. This is a different group as the likes of Darren McFadden and Rod Smith have moved on while Pollard and Weber have moved in.
