On Monday it was reported that Ezekiel Elliott has talked about holding out of training camp if he doesn’t have a brand new contract extension. That would not be fun.
Zeke is so much of what the Cowboys do on offense and fans everywhere got over the idea of being without him this season when it was announced that he wouldn’t be suspended over the offseason incident that he was a part of in Las Vegas. It seems like there’s always something to be worried about (the true Cowboys way).
Our friends over at Bovada took it upon themselves to draw up some odds based on Zeke’s reported threat (if you want to call it that) and they’re out. You can now bet on whether you think Zeke will miss a game due to a holdout or not. Odds are that he won’t.
NO: -700
YES: +400
It feels like the only gambling happening here is with Elliott himself. As it’s been said many times since this story first emerged, he can’t hold out past early August (the 6th to be specific) if he wants to gain an accrued season in 2019. Without that he would delay his own eventual free agency.
What do you think? Which side of these odds are you leaning towards?
