During his press conference following Tuesday’s practice out in Oxnard, Jason Garrett announced a bit of injury news regarding the Dallas Cowboys. Sean Lee tweaked his knee on Monday. Uh oh.
The Cowboys aren’t exactly depending on Sean Lee this season, he’s been relegated to special teams (and part-time linebacker) as he’s behind both Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch on the depth chart, but this is hardly ideal news.
To be clear, it’s not like a tweaked knee is the end of the world. Garrett was even firm in that the Cowboys don’t expect it to be anything too serious, perhaps the luxury of Lee not being such a priority on the field is that they can take things like this slower with him than they had in the past.
ESPN reported that this is in fact a minor MCL sprain for Lee. Not ideal, but not super dramatic either.
Told by a source Sean Lee has a minor MCL sprain in his right knee. Jason Garrett said Lee does not need surgery but clearly Cowboys will be cautious with Lee

Sean Lee has historically had injury issues which is part of what led to the Cowboys drafting Vander Esch in the first place. Hopefully this latest knee issue isn’t a big deal and will be behind him sooner rather than later.
