The Dallas Cowboys scored a touchdown in the preseason for the first time this season on Saturday night, and what do you know? They doubled their scoring total!
Late in the third quarter after Cooper Rush had come in at quarterback, and looked good while doing so, he had the Cowboys knocking on the door near the endzone. It was at that moment that Rush looked for someone who’s been impressing all throughout training camp... wide receiver Devin Smith.

At this point Rush feels firmly cemented as the team’s primary backup quarterback for Dak Prescott. Smith has had more of a challenge ahead of him in terms of making the final 53-man roster, but showing up throughout the preseason is a great way to get noticed.
This is a fantastic throw by Rush and great awareness by Smith to get down. Touchdowns are back, baby!
