Cowboys vs. Texans preseason game: How to watch, game time, TV schedule, online streaming, radio

It’s the third preseason game for the Dallas Cowboys, the one traditionally referred to as the “dress rehearsal” in which most of the starters usually play significant time. Teams are starting to move away from that model as protecting players from injury is becoming paramount.

Last year, the Cowboys were nursing injuries so they held out many of their stars in the third preseason game, we’ll have to see if Jason Garrett approaches this game the same way. With offensive linemen like Zack Martin and Tyron Smith nicked up, and other stars like Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott unavailable, a true “dress rehearsal” isn’t really in the cards. On defense, even though players like DeMarcus Lawrence and Tyrone Crawford have been activated off the PUP list, they will not see time in the game, either.

The Cowboys may do what they’ve done in the past couple of games which is put healthy starters on the field for a series or two, then bring in the backups for more evaluation.
