We’ve made it. Very soon the Cowboys will play the Tampa Bay Bucs in the fourth preseason game, after that it’s real football. A long offseason, as every offseason without football is long, will be in the rear-view mirror and a nation will rejoice. But, before that can happen, they do need to play that fourth preseason game.
As fans know, this will be the Backup Bowl. Don’t expect either team to expose any of their key players, and anyone of importance with any type of injury will be sitting out. That means a lot of Cooper Rush, Mike White, Jordan Chunn and Mike Weber, plus a boatload of other backups. Some are fighting to be the top backup or rotational piece, others are fighting for a roster spot, and many are fighting to put something good on tape so another team may become interested.
The Cowboys probably have a couple of guys they want to look at just to be sure about their decisions come cutdown day.
The key - no injuries.
