Watch: Donovan Olumba takes the interception to the house for the score

Defensive scores are very fun.

NFL: Preseason-Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys had to punt on their first offensive possession of the game but that didn’t prohibit them from scoring quickly.

Linebacker Justin Phillips did a fantastic job on the team’s first defensive possession and Donovan Olumba came in to add the exclamation point. A tipped ball found itself in Olumba’s hands and he scooped it up quickly enough to be able to get himself running. What did he do next? No big deal, just score a touchdown.

Olumba is a guy that many people have had on the bubble of their 53-man roster predictions. The way that you make sure you’re not forgotten when it comes time to finalizing those things is to make splash plays. Pick sixes definitely count in that regard.

Kris Richard has had a thing for Donovan Olumba for some time now. Was the interception indeed enough to keep him on the team? We’ll see.
