Friday brought with it some anxiousness for Dallas Cowboys fans everywhere as Jason Garrett announced to the world during his daily press conference that guard Zack Martin had a back issue and was getting an MRI. Those are not fun words to hear.
Zack Martin is essential to what the Cowboys want to do, as in be a good football team. He is perhaps the most talented player on the team relative to his position group across the entire league and him sustaining any type of injury would not be an ideal situation.
Thankfully it appears that all is well with Zack Martin. Reports trickled out late Friday night and they suggest that the results of the MRI were favorable. Thank goodness.
ALERT: Sources indicate to @1053TheFan that results are in on #Cowboys OL Zack Martin MRI. No serious back issue; team will continue to take precautions here. pic.twitter.com/0f6UCvG6dB

We’ve seen players like Jason Witten and Travis Frederick get veteran rest days so far throughout camp, given this tiny scare it’s safe to assume that the Cowboys might put Martin on ice a few times before this is all over with. He needs to be protected at all costs.
This could have obviously been much worse. Thankfully for Martin’s health, and for the good of the Cowboys football team, it wasn’t. You can breathe now.
