I’m not trying to speak for him, but it’s safe to say that Saturday is one of the greatest days of Gil Brandt’s life.
That is because on Saturday Gil Brandt will officially enter football’s most illustrious fraternity, the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is an honor that’s long overdue for the godfather of scouting and it’s great to see him finally getting his due.
On Friday night, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019 received their iconic gold jackets. Their presenters are the ones who place it on them so Jerry Jones was the person who did it for Mr. Brandt. Shortly after the GOAT dropped quite the statement when it comes to Jerry’s Cowboys... that they could win the Super Bowl this season.
"Believe me when I tell you this, the @dallascowboys are ready to emerge as a Super Bowl champion this year." @Gil_Brandt made sure to leave on a statement after he received his Gold Jacket (via @wyche89)

What Brandt said is something that a lot of people are starting to believe more and more. The Cowboys have a roster that is becoming widely recognized as one of the best in the NFL, good rosters typically perform well during the season.
Of course there are no trophies handed out for predictions. People are going to want to see the Cowboys actually win another Lombardi Trophy before they start crowning them, and that’s fair.
Just know now that one of the game’s brightest minds thinks the Cowboys can win it all this season. That says a lot.
