Jerry Jones expects Amari Cooper, Zack Martin, and Tyron Smith to all play in Week 1

That’s very good news.

The eyes of the Dallas Cowboys are now firmly fixated on next Sunday’s date against the New York Giants. Starting the season off with a win is never a bad thing.

Of course, getting a win is a lot easier when you have your best players on the field. That hasn’t exactly been the case for the Cowboys over the course of the preseason as they’ve been dealing with a handful of injuries (plus one holdout that nobody seems to be talking about!).

All of that seems to be a thing of the past though, at least according to Jerry Jones. Speaking to the media after Thursday night’s preseason finale Jerry noted that he expects Amari Cooper, Tyron Smith, and Zack Martin to all practice next week and play against the G-Men. Celebrate!

If you put together a list of the five most important players for the Cowboys there’s a strong possibility that three of them would be the ones that we’re talking about. Getting them back, theoretically healed and ready to roll, is a welcome boost to a team that has big goals this season.

The Giants have lost five of their last six games on the road against the Cowboys and I think I speak for everyone in saying that we’d like to make that six of their last seven, that would just sound cooler. Getting Amari, Tyron, and Zack back for the game will go a long way in that regard and in terms of helping the Cowboys across this entire season.

This is very good news.
