Stephen Jones says no momentum on Ezekiel Elliott deal, could leave Oxnard with no deal in place

This Saturday will mark the first preseason game of 2019 for the Dallas Cowboys and they’ve been preparing for it out on the left coast in Oxnard, California.

Oxnard has been home to training camp for the Cowboys for a while now and in recent years they’ve come home to finish up camp at the The Star in Frisco. The Cowboys will hold their final practice out in Oxnard on August 15th and it’s quite possible that Ezekiel Elliott (who’s currently holding out) might not be there.

There was a report on Tuesday morning that Elliott could miss time into the regular season, and while that’s still a bit away (not too far!) Stephen Jones offered up an interesting comment on 105.3 The Fan later in the day that has to do with the Zeke timetable.

Asked about Elliott’s situation, Jones said that he didn’t see any momentum that would lead him to believe the Cowboys would get a deal done with their star running back while they’re in Oxnard. Again, they leave in about a week and a half so that’s not exactly shocking, but it’s essentially confirmation that we’re still going to be waiting a while.

Buckle up.
