The 2016 offseason was a fascinating one as the Carolina Panthers had quite the contractual debate with cornerback Josh Norman. They eventually found him to not be someone that they wanted to give a long-term deal, so he hit free agency and ended up in Washington.
Norman has been playing in our nation’s capital for three seasons now so his time there lines up with the Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott era. In that time, Washington has defeated the Cowboys only once with that happening just last year when Dallas visited their rival.
Speaking honestly, the rivalry between Dallas and Washington hasn’t felt like much of one in that time. With the Cowboys having so much more success and the latter struggling so much, it’s generally a one-sided contest.
This hasn’t stopped Josh Norman from throwing out just a bit of trash talk this week. He was asked about Dak Prescott’s performance against the Giants, you know, the one that earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, and he wasn’t all too impressed.
Josh Norman to my question about Dak Prescott: "You stand back there in the pocket all day and go through your first, second and third reads and come back to your first one, OK, cool. Anybody can that. You could throw the ball if that's the case."

It seems like Norman is simply saying that throwing from a clean pocket isn’t the most difficult thing in the world, and obviously that’s true. A few days before a division rivalry gets going though, these are fighting words in the minds of many.
Prescott has experienced enormous success against Washington throughout his career and now enters the next round seemingly more equipped than ever. We’ll see who gets the last laugh on Sunday afternoon.
