We’ve reached mid-week, which mean practices and press conferences as the Cowboys prep for a meeting with the Miami Dolphins. Coach Jason Garrett met with the media to discuss all kinds of issues Cowboys-related. (All answers are paraphrased and not actual quotes).

Xavier Woods’ situation is day by day

Jason Garrett implied that Xavier Woods’ situation isn’t that dire. He noted that the safety might even do something in practice on Wednesday. He said they have other safety options if needed but they will evaluate things as the week progresses.

Other injury updates

Tyrone Crawford won’t practice today, Tavon Austin is feeling better but still won’t practice, he will work with the trainers today. He is still in concussion protocol. Antwaun Woods would be very limited if he practices at all today.

Robert Quinn

Garrett noted that Quinn will practice on Wednesday and they will still “see” how much he does. He is still dealing with his hand injury and coach thought he would be wearing some kind of protection on it.

Christian Covington looks good

Coach said that Covington has done a good job so far, that he plays the right way and is very physical. He complimented him as a good addition to the team.

No roster move yet for Robert Quinn

Jason Garrett mentioned that the Cowboys have until 4pm ET on Wednesday to make a corresponding move for elevating Robert Quinn. He specified that they don’t know what they’re going to do yet.
