This is about as confident as Cowboys fans have been in recent memory

Confidence is contagious.

There are a lot of things to keep track of on a weekly basis throughout the NFL season and how we’re all feeling about it is an important one.

Week in and week out, via SB Nation’s FanPulse tool, we note just how confident Dallas Cowboys fans are feeling about the state of their team. When the squad is 2-0 and performing at an offensive level that we haven’t seen in some time, confidence is high! You can sign up here to be a part of BTB’s group on FanPulse if you’d like.

So what does FanPulse have to say about America’s Team at Week 3 of the season? As mentioned, confidence is high, but I mean really high.

Cowboys fans are as confident as they’ve ever been since we started tracking this

When you look at the way that Kellen Moore has come in and utilized the team’s offensive weapons. it’s easy to feel safe with him running the ship. It seems that this truly is the case as Cowboys fans are super-confident in the undefeated team.

This is interesting when you consider the current injury situation with Michael Gallup and Xavier Woods each slated to miss some time, but perhaps the friendly schedule facing the Cowboys is a big reason for optimism. Dallas will host the Miami Dolphins and travel to take on the Drew Brees-less New Orleans Saints over the next two weeks, there’s a lot of reason to believe that they’ll double their win total in that time.

As you can see, confidence has been somewhat climbing ever since the 2018 season ended, and a lot of this likely stems from the change in offensive philosophy that Dallas has committed to since then. There were, and some remain, contract hurdles for the team to get over but it’s all come together which explains why people are feeling so good.

Cowboys fans currently sits at a 96% level of confidence which, again, is right about the highest that we’ve ever seen (FanPulse started to be tracked last season). Consider the numerical value of just how much it’s grown.

Cowboy fans confidence at various points
  • End of season: 65%
  • Free agency: 57%
  • Pre-draft: 79%
  • Post-draft: 76%
  • Preseason Week 1: 68%
  • Week 1: 78%
  • Week 2: 94%
  • Week 3: 96%

Good things feel good, it seems.

The rest of the NFC East and the Cowboys next two opponents aren’t feeling as great

When you consider that Cowboys fans are feeling so good it likely means that New York Giants and Washington Redskins fans aren’t exactly (especially considering their teams lost to Dallas already this season). They are both also franchises that appear to be lost a bit in terms of their current directions, although the Giants at least have committed to their rookie quarterback Daniel Jones.

It’s also fair to understand that Saints fans have lost a lot of confidence what with Drew Brees being lost for a large chunk of the season. Cowboys fans know full well just how badly a backup quarterback season can go as 2015 was only four years ago.

Interestingly, Miami Dolphins fans are feeling better than they did last week. Go figure.

Hopefully confidence is even higher after Week 3.
