Cowboys open as seven-point favorites over Giants, tied for third-largest in Week 1

People believe in the Cowboys on Sunday.

It’s officially Week 1 and sweet potato pie does that feel good.

This Sunday the Dallas Cowboys will host the New York Giants and it’s a fantastic opportunity for them to start the season off with a win. Not to overlook any team, especially a division rival, but Eli Manning is still playing quarterback for the G-Men which is a very good thing for DeMarcus Lawrence and the Hot Boyz.

There are a lot of people that think this, and they’re not just Cowboys fans. If you ask any NFL fan they, assuming they don’t support the Giants intentionally, likely believe that Dallas will win their season opener. That’s a fair thought.

The folks over at BetOnline also happen to think that the Cowboys will emerge victorious on Sunday afternoon. In fact they have the Cowboys favored by a touchdown against New York.

  • Dallas Cowboys..................... -7
  • New York Giants.................... +7

Seven points is tied for the third-largest spread that BetOnline has listed for Week 1 of the season. There are two other teams tied as that large of a favorite and only two more listed as larger ones:

The Bengals look like they might be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season, but for a while this past offseason there were many that thought the Giants weren’t too far behind them. Washington also looks like they’ll struggle, keep in mind that’s who the Cowboys visit in Week 2.

What do you think of this line for the Cowboys in their season opener? As of now we’re still not totally sure what the situation with Ezekiel Elliott is, but even if he’s not there it’s still fair to consider the Cowboys as favorites.
