My attempt at a 2020 Cowboys Schedule

I am throwing out this fanpost to speculate on the 2020 schedule. I think this schedule is fair and doesn't include the Giants for the opening game of the regular season. So here is my schedule, with comments, starting with preseason.

Preseason
Week 1-Friday August 14: at Seattle
Week 2-Saturday August 22: vs LA Rams
Week 3-Thursday August 27: at Green Bay CBS
Week 4-Thursday September 3: vs Carolina

No real comments here except that I have the Cowboys facing the Packers during the preseason. This is the closest that Mike McCarthy will get to his old team this season barring a trip to Green Bay in the playoffs.

Regular Season

Week 1-Sunday September 13: at Philadelphia, 7:20 PM NBC: We start out with the NFC East but it is a trip to Philadelphia to start the season. Still it is a change from prior seasons.

Week 2-Sunday September 20: vs Atlanta, 12:00 PM FOX: I don't know if this is going to mean anything in the long run, but we have to play Atlanta sometime. Might as well do it early in the season.

Week 3-Sunday September 27: at LA Rams, 3:25 PM FOX: This is the first of plenty of showdown games this coming season. This game could also lead to the Rams deciding to bench Jared Goff.

Week 4-Sunday October 4: vs Arizona, 12:00 PM FOX: We need to play the Cardinals sometime. Might as well be early in the season.

Week 5-Sunday October 11: vs NY Giants, 3:25 PM FOX: Jason Garrett returns to Dallas on the weekend Jimmy Johnson is inducted into the Ring of Honor.

Week 6-Sunday October 18: at Cincinnati, 12:00 PM FOX at Old Trafford, London: The Cowboys head back to London and play at an historic stadium.

Week 7-Sunday October 25: BYE: We need it at this time.

Week 8-Sunday November 1: at Washington, 7:20 PM NBC: It is simply a while since the Cowboys and Redskins played on Sunday Night. This should be a good game.

Week 9-Sunday November 8: vs Cleveland, 3:25 PM CBS: The Cowboys need to play the Browns sometime.

Week 10-Monday November 16: at Seattle, 7:15 PM ESPN: Just the NFL giving ESPN a bone. Regardless the game should be a great one.

Week 11-Sunday November 22: vs Philadelphia, 3:25 PM FOX: The Week 1 rematch and it is the week before thanksgiving.

Week 12-Thursday November 26: vs San Francisco, 3:30 PM FOX (Thanksgiving): Have the Niners ever appeared on Thanksgiving in Dallas. I don't think so. Therefore, they get this slot. Indianapolis at Detroit will be the appetizer.

Week 13-Sunday December 6: at Baltimore, 7:20 PM NBC: The Cowboys play a night game after Thanksgiving for the 5th straight year. The only difference is that it is a showdown at Baltimore featuring two of the "hottest" quarterbacks in the league. Note: I say "hottest" because of the group that wants to get rid of Dak Prescott.

Week 14-Sunday December 13: vs Washington, 12:00 PM FOX: We play Washington at 12 Noon on Sunday December 13th. That is all I have for this one.

Week 15-Saturday December 19: at Minnesota, 7:25 PM NFLN: The NFL network gets a solo game and it is a beauty at Minnesota. Hopefully the Cowboys will get to eliminate Minnesota from the playoff picture this time.

Week 16-Sunday December 27: vs Pittsburgh, 3:25 PM CBS: The best Present is saved for right after Christmas and hopefully it is Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling the game.

Week 17-Sunday January 3 2021: at NY Giants, 12:00 PM FOX: Hopefully this game doesn't count in the playoff race while the Cowboys have locked up the 1st seed.
