The Dallas Cowboys have been doing things at their own pace since the 2019 season ended, they have not been pushed by anyone or anything. It took them a week longer than everyone thought (in some cases, years longer) to officially move on from Jason Garrett as their head coach, but then they quickly turned around not even 24 hours later and hired Mike McCarthy to replace him.

Of course, none of that was official. It was reported by FOX, corroborated by many, but there was no concrete word from the Dallas Cowboys themselves that Mike McCarthy would be the team’s next head coach. Until now.

Dallas is putting the word out and on Wednesday they will be doing it in front of the world. America’s Team will introduce Mike McCarthy as their next head coach in a Wednesday press conference.

It has been reported since Monday, but the team announced the decision Tuesday afternoon: the Dallas Cowboys officially have a new head coach.

Mike McCarthy, the former long-time Packers coach who won a Super Bowl with Green Bay inside AT&T Stadium in 2011, has been hired as the ninth coach in Cowboys history. The deal is reportedly for five years. A press conference has been scheduled for Wednesday at 3 pm at the Star in Frisco.

The press conference will take place at 4 pm ET, 3 pm CT, and we’ll have coverage of it all here at BTB. Get ready folks.

It’s time for a new era.
