Head coach Mike McCarthy continues his efforts to fill out the coaching staff for the Dallas Cowboys. There are still some Cowboys staffers from the Jason Garrett regime that do not know their fate yet. One of those is running backs coach Gary Brown, a fan-favorite and a popular coach with his players. He is still in the running, but the Cowboys are bringing in Stan Drayton for an interview.

As noted above, Drayton coached Ezekiel Elliott in college so that would likely be a big plus in his favor as long as he and Zeke had a good relationship back then. But, the Cowboys will have competition for Drayton.

Texas salary was $455,000 when he joined the staff in 2017. Bumped to $515,000 in 2018.
If the Cowboys really want Drayton, you can expect Jerry Jones to open up the pocket book. He is known for paying coaches what it takes to get them on staff, or keep them on staff, when it is someone who the Cowboys really like.
The offensive turnover looks to be almost a complete overhaul as Marc Colombo and Sanjay Lal are already reported to be out. Gary Brown could lose out here, and word is that Jon Kitna’s position is shaky.
There is also some uncertainty about the return of QB coach Jon Kitna.
