The Dallas Cowboys might have just suffered a catastrophic injury to quarterback Dak Prescott. The Cowboys quarterback was running a draw play and was fighting for extra yards when the tackler fell on his ankle. The TV replays showed the ankle looking almost sideways at the bottom of his leg; it certainly looked like some kind of broken ankle.
Prescott was taken off the field on a cart and had tears in his eyes. That lends further credence that this was a very bad injury. The Cowboys were in the middle of a dogfight with the Giants. The Cowboys actually ended up finishing the drive with a touchdown on a run by Ezekiel Elliott.
The Cowboys signed Andy Dalton this offseason to back up Prescott, and he was called into duty after the injury. As far as backups go, Dalton is a good one to have but losing Prescott will be a devastating injury for the Cowboys.
