Cowboys vs. Cardinals injury report: Everson Griffen only Cowboy to not practice, but not injury related

This week, Dak Prescott joins the list of Cowboys starters that are out for the season, including La’el Collins, Tyron Smith, Trysten Hill and Blake Jarwin. The IR list grows.

But there is some movement in the other direction. Earlier today, we learned that Leighton Vander Esch was going to try and be a full participant in today’s practice. The middle linebacker fractured his collar bone in the first game of the season against the Rams, and was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks. He seems to be a quick healer as he is practicing this week.

Also, Sean Lee and Chidobe Awuzie were working with the trainers on the side, the first step to any return to action. The Cowboys could especially use Awuzie as their secondary has been worked and could use any kind of reinforcement.

For an unknow reason, Everson Griffen was absent today.

Whatever kept Griffen out, it wasn’t injury related. Also, all the other Cowboys injuries look okay. We’ll have to wait to see how Vander Esch did since he’s not off the IR list yet and is not on the injury report.
