Looking in on the enemy: How did the remaining Cowboys opponents fare in Week 4?

What happened to all the Cowboys downstream opponents over the weekend?

The Dallas Cowboys found themselves on a the losing end for the third time in four games. That is certainly not how we hoped things would start out. There is still a lot of football to play, so it’s time to check in and see how their future opponents performed this past week.

Week 5: New York Giants

Last week: Lost 17-9 to the Rams, currently 0-4

Key game notes:

  • Daniel Jones was 23/36 for 190 yards with no touchdowns and one pick
  • Jones was sacked five times
  • Wayne Gallman led all running backs with 45 yards on six carries
  • Darius Slayton had 48 yards receiving on three catches
  • Linebacker Blake Martinez had 13 tackles

Week 6: Arizona Cardinals

Last week: Lost 31-21 to the Lions, currently at 2-2

Key game notes:

  • Kyler Murray went 24/31 passing for just 133 yards and three touchdowns
  • Murray added 78 yards rushing
  • Kenyan Drake ran for just 35 yards on 13 carries
  • DeAndre Hopkins had seven catches for 41 yards
  • Linebacker Jordan Hicks led the team with 12 tackles

Week 7: @ Washington Football Team

Last week: Lost 31-17 to the Ravens, currently 1-3

Key game notes:

  • Dwayne Haskins finished 32/45 for 314 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions
  • Antoine Gibson had 13 carries for 46 yards and a score
  • Terry McLaurin had 10 catches for 118 yards
  • Jon Bostic led the team with 14 tackles
  • Kendall Fuller had two picks

Week 8: @ Philadelphia Eagles

Last week: Beat the 49ers 25-20, currently 1-2-1 and in first place in the NFC East

Key game notes:

  • Carson Wentz was 18/28 for 193 yards with one touchdown and one interception
  • Miles Sanders led all rushers with 46 yards on 13 carries
  • Travis Fulgham was the team’s top receiver with two catches for 57 yards and a score
  • The Philly defense had five sacks

Week 9: Pittsburgh Steelers

Last week: Didn’t play because of COVID. Game rescheduled to Week 8. Currently 3-0 and in first place in the AFC North.

Week 11: @ Minnesota Vikings

Last week: Beat the Texans 31-23, currently 1-3

Key game notes:

  • Kirk Cousins was 16/22 for 260 yards for one touchdown
  • Dalvin Cook rushed for 130 yards on 27 attempts and scored twice
  • Adam Thielen caught eight passes for 114 yards and a touchdown
  • Justin Jefferson had four catches for 103 yards

Week 12: Washington Football Team

Week 13: @ Baltimore Ravens

Last week: Beat Washington 31-17, currently 3-1

  • Lamar Jackson was 14/21 for 193 yards with two touchdowns and one pick
  • Jackson added another 53 yards on the ground, including a rushing touchdown
  • Gus Edwards was the team’s leading running back with 38 yards on nine carries
  • Marquise Brown had four catches for 86 yards
  • Tight end Mark Andrews caught three passes for 57 yards with two touchdowns
  • Rookie linebacker Patrick Queen led his team with 12 tackles

Week 14: @ Cincinnati Bengals

Last week: Beat the Jaguars 33-25, currently 1-2-1

Key game notes:

  • Joe Burrow was 25/36 for 300 yards with one touchdown and one pick
  • Joe Mixon rushed 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns and added 30 yards receiving and another score
  • Tyler Boyd had seven receptions for 90 yards
  • Rookie Tee Higgins had four catches for 77 yards

Week 15: San Francisco 49ers

Last week: Lost to the Eagles 25-20, currently at 2-2

Key game notes:

  • Nick Mullens was 25/36 for 200 yards with one touchdown and two picks
  • Jerick McKinnon had 14 rushes for 54 yards and a touchdown
  • Tight end George Kittle caught 15 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown
