They did it. They really did it. The Dallas Cowboys won a game last week.
Things have turned significantly for a team that appeared to be heading straight toward Tank City as the Cowboys are now squarely in the hunt for the NFC East title (such is life in 2020). Whether or not America’s Team is able to earn themselves a few caps and t-shirts in a couple of weeks remains to be seen, and what happens on Thanksgiving Day is going to go a long way in deciding it.
As tradition holds, the Cowboys will indeed play on the third Thursday in November and will do so at home as they always have. Dallas will host the Washington Football Team in their first divisional rematch of the season and they have quite the score to settle.
Last time that Dallas played Washington they were blown out by galactic proportions and saw a cheap shot against their quarterback in Andy Dalton. Since then, the waters have sort of stabilized for Mike McCarthy and Co. as they were competitive against both the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers before successfully vanquishing the Minnesota Vikings.
Of course. it won’t be easy. The Washington defensive line is loaded and as an organization they are riding the tremendous story that is quarterback Alex Smith’s return. The Cowboys are going to need to do everything that they can to be ready on a short week, and it will thankfully be a lot of fun to watch.
