Poll: Who do you want to win the NFC East if it isn’t going to be the Dallas Cowboys?

The month of December will begin with the Dallas Cowboys looking up in the NFC East, a position they have grown accustomed to over the course of this 2020 season.

The latest loss for Dallas was one of the more humiliating to date as they were blasted in front of the entire country on Thanksgiving Day. Washington has now swept Dallas for the first time since 2012 and put themselves in contention to win one of the worst divisions in the history of the National Football League.

While the Cowboys are definitely still very much alive in the NFC East title race, the way that they are playing is hardly inspiring confidence. It seems more obvious than ever that they are not going to win this division. Some are fine with that as it will help ensure that they have a top draft choice come 2021.

It is admittedly not a fun exercise to consider a non-Cowboys team winning the NFC East, but if we are going to be looking at future-related things like potential draft stock then it merits considering what team winning the division is in fact best for the Dallas Cowboys.

While it is a strange thing for us to say out loud, the Philadelphia Eagles winning the division might help the Cowboys the most. It would keep them far away from the top of the NFL Draft order and perhaps convince them that their organizational structure is not in need of a serious reboot. It also might make them believe that Carson Wentz is indeed the answer for them and the longer that they are thinking that the better for America’s Team.

A similar argument can be made for the Washington Football Team. There is no question that their defense is top of the line and will be for some time, if they were near the top of the draft order and able to land a capable quarterback (no disrespect to this year’s Comeback Player of the Year in Alex Smith) they would be cooking with some serious gas. Perhaps you think that the New York Giants winning the division would be most beneficial overall. I’d argue that them winning it would be the most costly. We have said here that the Cowboys winning it would do a lot towards boosting the culture of the organization, well it’s fair to say that a similar thing would happen to the G-Men. Getting an NFC East title for Daniel Jones, Joe Judge, with Saquon Barkley coming back next year, yea, I’m not a fan of that.
