The Dallas Cowboys are still suffering injuries. Just earlier today we learned that punter Chris Jones will have surgery and will miss at least a few weeks. In his place, the newly-signed Hunter Niswander will make his first start as the Cowboys punter.
That’s just the latest in a wave of injuries to hit the Cowboys this season, but they are hoping to get a reinforcement this week as cornerback Chidobe Awuzie will try to work his way back into the lineup. Awuzie practiced some last week but his workload was reduced as the week went on and eventually he was not activated from injured reserve. He will try again this week and he was able to practice today.
The Cowboys had a couple of players show up as limited today, including starting running back Ezekiel Elliott. He has a hamstring issue so that needs to be closely watched. Aldon Smith was also limited with a knee injury.

Eli Ankou, the Cowboys newest defensive tackle, still needs to pass COVID-19 protocols but he should be able to go on Thursday.
The only player currently on the 53-man roster not practicing Wednesday was defensive tackle Eli Ankou. He should clear COVID protocols in time to practice Thursday. For those scoring at home, Cooper Rush is wearing No. 10.
