Tuesday was a weird day for the Dallas Cowboys as one of their longer-tenured players in Jason Witten agreed to join a new team, the Las Vegas Raiders.
Time is a funny thing. It comes, it goes, and eventually players move on from your favorite team in one way or another. We have experienced this with a lot of Cowboys.
If you are looking for a way to feel nostalgic then look no further... the Dallas Cowboys are bringing back someone that a lot of people have to come to love over the last decade.
Sean Lee is returning to the Cowboys for another season
Before you know it you can blink and players that were once rookies are all of a sudden savvy veterans. This happened with Sean Lee as he is now the old man of the group on the Cowboys defense, and things are going to be staying that way. He’s returning in 2020.
Excited for Sean Lee to play another season for the @dallascowboys

Sean Lee back to #Cowboys at 1 year, $4.5 million with $2 million fully guaranteed

It had been speculated earlier this week that a return could be in the cards for Lee as it was reported that the team reached out to him last week. Obviously those conversations went well as Lee is back in the silver and blue.
Sean Lee provided a great point of depth for the Cowboys last season when starting linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was injured. Having someone with Lee’s experience, and frankly Lee’s talents, as a reserve is a luxury that most NFL teams do not have the benefit of.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Leighton Vander Esch fully healing and getting right. At the very least the Cowboys will have Lee at the ready.
Welcome back, General Lee.
