We are still about half of a year (sigh) away from the Dallas Cowboys beginning their quest for a sixth Lombardi Trophy, and if they are to be successful in that campaign then a lot is going to have to go their way.
Of course before the football is played the Cowboys will go through free agency, the NFL Draft, offeseason activities, training camp, preseason, you’ve been here and done that before so you get the picture. We are quite a ways away from significant football being played.
While that is objectively the case, that doesn’t mean that people can’t fix their eyes forward on what the 2020 Cowboys season could eventually look like. On Tuesday the latest rounds of odds dropped from our friends over at BetOnline and the Cowboys are near the top of the group as far as chances to appear in Super Bowl LV.
Odds to win NFC in 2020
Dallas Cowboys 9/1
Seattle Seahawks 9/1
Los Angeles Rams 14/1
Chicago Bears 16/1
Minnesota Vikings 16/1
Arizona Cardinals 18/1
Atlanta Falcons 20/1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20/1
New York Giants 25/1
Detroit Lions 33/1
Carolina Panthers 40/1
Washington Redskins 50/1
The Cowboys are technically tied for the third-best odds near the top of the group and only trail New Orleans, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. All three of those teams made the playoffs last season, one of them even went on to play in the Super Bowl, so it is pretty elite company these days.
Obviously the Eagles are considered to be more firm locks to appear in the Super Bowl than the Cowboys which means that Philadelphia has better odds to win the division than Dallas. That’s no fun.
Odds to win NFC East in 2020
Philadelphia Eagles 5/4
Dallas Cowboys 7/5
New York Giants 13/2
Washington Redskins 8/1
So much of who the Cowboys end up being in 2020 is going to depend on how they fare under Mike McCarthy. Do you think that’ll be solid enough to take any of these odds?
