With it being draft week, all of the talk is who the Dallas Cowboys will add on Thursday through Saturday. Many different opinions on many different needs. It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys prioritize certain positions, especially early on in the draft.
Dallas is also still showing interest in the free agent market. They are reportedly interested in former Bengals cornerback Dre Kirpatrick.
On the trade scene, the Cowboys have been linked by rumors to wide receivers Christian Kirk and Marquise Goodwin, both of whom played their college ball in Texas.
Another name that should be on the Cowboys radar is recently released wide receiver Marqise Lee. Jacksonville parted ways with the veteran receiver in a move that will save the team $4.8 million in cap space. Lee was due $7 million next season.
A surprise: The #Jaguars are releasing WR Marqise Lee, source said. One of their most productive receivers is now a free agent – fully healthy and completely cleared medically — right before the draft.

Lee is a player that should interest the Cowboys because he could be a relatively cheap option at the position. The rising sixth-year wide receiver has an injury history — most notably missing the majority of both the 2018 and the 2019 seasons with two separate knee injuries — but he has been a good player when healthy.
Jacksonville made the AFC Championship Game in 2017, and Marqise Lee had a pretty nice season in the process. He grabbed 56 passes, totaled 702 yards, and three touchdowns. The year prior, he made 63 catches for 851 yards and a trio of touchdowns.

Dallas was rumored to be interested in Lee during 2018 free agency, but decided to pass. The Cowboys showed some interest in free agent wideout Emmanuel Sanders this offseason, but were not willing to match what the New Orleans Saints were offering the Bellville, Texas, native.
Many have assumed that adding a slot receiver at this point means through the draft, and with as talented as this class is, that could be the way to go. With rumored interest in trading for a wide receiver, though, they may be keeping their options open and looking at different scenarios.
Marqise Lee should at least be on the Cowboys radar if they do not decide to add a slot through the draft. There is a lot of unknown behind Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, and Lee should be a low-risk option that would not count against comp picks.
