The closer we get to the NFL Draft, the more often we will hear rumors about which prospects teams like and who they may draft. Some of these rumors have some substance, while others could be smoke screens.
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah is well-plugged into the NFL and the draft. Jeremiah says that he has talked to a “bunch” of general managers over the weekend. He came away with the impression that a handful of guys will be drafted higher than much of the media is expecting.

Bama CB Trevon Diggs
TENN Edge Darrell Taylor
Dallas has shown some interest in two of those names above, TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor and Alabama defensive back Trevon Diggs. The name that stands out, to me at least, is Reagor.
Reagor is a native of Waxahachie, which is less than an hour away from Arlington. The former blue-chip prospect put together an impressive career with the local Horned Frogs, earning All-American and all-conference honors during his time in Fort Worth.

Reagor is an electrifying athlete that is often the fastest, and most dangerous, player on the field. John Owning of the Dallas Morning News wrote that Reagor “displays rare acceleration ability”.
Much like Jeudy, Reagor does an excellent job of attacking leverage with his stem before using deception and excellent burst to run away from defenders out of his break. Reagor displays rare acceleration ability through his stem, quickly eating up and flying by a defender’s cushion in off coverage.
It is no secret that the Cowboys would like to add a receiver to its offense, either through the draft, in a trade, or even in free agency following the draft. Many assume that Dallas will not target a wide receiver early, but it is hard to predict how the draft will unfold.
The talented TCU product joined NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport to discuss the draft. On Rapoport’s podcast, Reagor noted that the Dallas Cowboys, along with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Las Vegas Raiders, are a team that he has spoken to the most.

Dallas interviewed the talented wideout earlier this month, and owner Jerry Jones explained that Reagor caught his attention back in his high school days when the TCU product scored a touchdown against Highland Park. Below is the video that the Dallas Cowboys put out from the virtual meeting.

It remains to be seen how much the Cowboys will prioritize the position early in the draft, but anything can happen. If Dallas does decide to grab a wideout early, Jalen Reagor could be the guy that they have their eyes on.
