Poll: What’s the weakest part of the new Cowboys in 11 personnel?

The Cowboys have a good problem for fans to solve.

The Dallas Cowboys look to have one of the stronger draft classes throughout the NFL and that is something that is certainly very exciting. But friends... they drafted CeeDee Lamb!

It is hard not to be excited about what Dallas can now do in 11 personnel after adding CeeDee to the mix. It is very possible that they have the best wide receiver group in the NFL, but only time will tell how true that really is.

Without being too prisoner-of-the-moment here - what is the weak part of the Cowboys when they are in 11 personnel? It’s hard to figure out.

2020 Dallas Cowboys (11 Personnel)

  • QB: Dak Prescott
  • RB: Ezekiel Elliott
  • WR: Amari Cooper
  • LT: Tyron Smith
  • LG: Connor Williams
  • C: Joe Looney
  • RG: Zack Martin
  • RT: La’el Collins
  • TE: Blake Jarwin
  • WR: CeeDee Lamb
  • WR: Michael Gallup

We’ve penciled in Joe Looney at center for now, but what is the biggest point of weakness here (besides the under)? Is it center?

From a skill position standpoint the only one that is in contention is, no disrespect intended, tight end. Blake Jarwin has a lot of potential but he is by far the least proven of the group. Some of that is the team’s fault in inhibiting his growth last year by returning Jason Witten, but there is thought that with a lion’s share of tight end usage he can develop nicely.

Perhaps you aren’t too confident in third-year player Connor Williams at left guard, but he seemed to be finding himself before getting injured last season. Obviously not having Travis Frederick next to him will hurt, but that position in general is certainly in discussion here as center is a question mark for the time being.

Other than that, it is very difficult to come up with an answer. While Dak Prescott certainly has his share of doubters in no way he is a lesser quarterback than any of the options we’ve already discussed are at their positions. Aside from that, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, La’el Collins, Ezekiel Elliott, and the wide receivers are all studs. This offense is going to be fun.
