NFL.com's Charles Davis' Mock Draft 2.0

I have always liked the guy, yet his mocks always seem off for a guy who is connected & once made a living judging talent. This latest mockery is just further proof that sometimes they just want to see guys lans in a spot & not actually how things will go. This is his latest, let's see if he has changed his mind about a few teams.

His first 6 are like every other mock out there with no trade & no surprises.

1 CIN Burrow

2 WAS Young

3 DET Okudah

4 NYG Simmons

5 MIA Tua

6 LAC Herbert

The Panthers sit at seven & could they really take BPA or in this rebuild with a new HC could they be the team to trade down? For the this mockery, he has them going BPA

7 CAR Brown

The Cardinals solved the one big hole by ripping off BoB by getting Hopkins so the will go OT & it's just a matter of which one. The run on OT's will start here & they have the pick of the litter with four OT's all graded closely it becomes a team preference of this guy over that guy.

8 AZ Thomas

The Jags were seen as the team to take Derrick Brown, but he is gone. They also have the glaring need at CB since their starters from last year are now gone. The Jags have shown they are willing to give the Browns a run for the money with taking a guy nobody mocked to them. This team was in the AFCCG just a few years ago & now look at what kind of a mess they are. Don't be surprised when they make the pick & have to ask yourself who?

9 JAX Wirfs

The Browns were the preseason darlings last year because they added a few pieces in the offseason. Then the real games started & they reverted to being the Browns team we all make fun of. They are back again & made some moves in FA to shore up the OL by signing Jack Conklin & should they add Becton the offense might actually take off & they can quit being a punchline.

10 CLE Becton

The next train wreck is the Jets. It's hard to believe they are picking this low & not top 5 with the roster they have. They have serious holes on the offense that hinder them from ever becoming good. Many mockers have them going OT which is a wise section given what they have but Charles thinks differently & has them taking the best WR in Jeudy ware his career will end on the tarmac. Jets fans will love it since the offense has been offensive & he is BPA.

11 NYJ Jeudy

Since the draft will have a different look, I wonder if we catch Chucky's face when the Jets pick is announced? Jeudy is the top dawg & give Chucky the WR they used to have in Cooper. He does have a choice of speed freak or all round guy & after a pause rolls with Lamb which should cause the phones to light up as it leaves Ruggs as the last WR left & teams will have to look at their boards if they want a WR.

12 LV Lamb

The wild card to shake up the draft is now in control of the draft. We have seen Lynch willing to wheel & deal & this team has no picks in rounds 2-4. You know he is squeezing other teams trying to make a deal since he has three guys he could draft right here in Ruggs, Kinlaw or Henderson.

13 SF Henderson

If you didn't hate him before, you can hate him now as many here thought Henderson could be ours to take over from Byron. Now we have to switch to plan B as well. TB is next & the vibe is now seeing them need to fix the OL since Jameis is gone & they now have TB. He has the weapons to make the offense go, but that OL was horrific last year & the new money says they go OL here.

14 TB Wills

Things are looking up for some pet cat lovers, but the minefield still has active mines. There was aa time when Chaisson would be the ATL pick, then they had Henderson going there, but he is now gone. Would ATL take Kinlaw to pair up with Jarrett? They need some body to replace Trufant don't they? Do we need to trade up with Elway to leap frog ATL? This would be the spot to do it since Ruggs would still be there with a swap of picks. Would Elway want a premium or would he be happy with just taking the points in a trade? Well, Charles doesn't trade

15 DEN Ruggs

So unable to make a splash, we now are at the mercy of the Falcons. The nice thing in this mockery is the WR's have been tapped, so that dilemma is no longer in play. It will be an agonizing ten minutes waiting for ATL to make a decision since I doubt they have the man of their dreams sitting there & they are pondering the possibilities & seeing if somebody wants to make a deal here.

16 ATL Kinlaw

Well, can't blame them, yet would they actually take Kinlaw when they now have CB issues & word on the street is they plan on moving on from Tak. There is nothing wrong with adding muscle to the trenches & giving your pro bowler a wing man that can help wreak havoc. The great kerfuffle is now at the peak as we have seen many of our pet cats stolen from us & the options look bleak. This was the scenario I envisioned that made me join the Traders.

17 K'Lavon Chaisson

Some will like the pick, many won't & the Taco comps will never end. The kid flashes like you want a pass rusher, yet his baggage has several red flags. If that's what they do, there is no use in whining about it without giving the kid a chance. It would be nice to wait to see him play before the whining starts, but this blog will be filled with such negativity with this pick that just reading the headlines might be an easier way to get your Cowboys news & avoid the comment section. The draft isn't over, although it feels that way, let's wrap this up.

18 MIA Jackson OT

Miami did the obvious with their pick as need lined up with BPA & upgrading the OL was obvious here. I have been a believer that Chucky gives Mayock a bone & trades down so they caning an extra player in the top 150 since they are without a second round pick. Since Charles isn't trading, he gives them a guy who some love, yet some say it's a mirage.

19 LV Blacklock

20 JAX Diggs

21 PHI Tee Higgins WR Clemson

22 MIN McKinney

23 NE Love

24 NO Queen

25 MIN J Jefferson

26 MIA Swift

27 SEA Gross-Matos

28 BAL Murray

29 TEN Joshua Jones

30 GB Shenault

31 SF Aiyuk

32 KC Baun

Once our pick is over, there isn't much to get excited about. Should the draft go that way, there isn't a guy that gores next many will want. The 20's are filled with a bunch of vanilla picks. It will be fun to see how the WR's get picked after the big three are taken. He does not have a surprise pick in the back half of the draft nor does he have nay trades that could shake things up. It seems like there are 17 guys with first round grades & we get the seventeenth rated guy. It's much moore fun to mock the expert, but all in all, there is some levity to it, just can't see it shaking out that way.
