This January video shows Aldon Smith in what appears to be pretty good shape

It was just about a week ago that the Dallas Cowboys shocked everyone by signing defensive end Aldon Smith. We will have to wait a while to fully know what the Cowboys are getting in Smith as he hasn’t played professional football in five years. It is possible that this turns out great for the Cowboys, but, of course, it is possible that anything happens.

If you are wondering what Smith looks like these days we now have a little bit of an idea. Jay Glazer, who Smith was working with on his road back to the NFL, shared a video from January that shows Smith in what appears to be pretty solid shape.

To be frank this is just a video of Aldon Smith running on a treadmill, but he certainly looks in pretty legitimate form. Running and chasing down quarterbacks are very different things, so how that translates will again remain to be seen.

It’s nice to have just a little bit of an idea as to what Aldon Smith looks like physically. Time will tell for anything more.
