The Dallas Cowboys are an NFL organization rich with history and tradition and as a result there are some former players that, when they speak, command attention. You know the group of players that fall into this category, and you know that Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman is among them. Aikman remains part of the current NFL world as he serves as the top color analyst on FOX and as they typically carry more Cowboys games than anyone. He sees the Cowboys on a regular basis throughout the season.

Aikman obviously knows a lot of people throughout the league as he meets with people every week for his FOX duties. He is supremely connected to the game today and therefore his opinions on things comes with some expertise.

Troy Aikman believes Dak Prescott will get paid

There are few people busier than Troy Aikman and the grind did not stop for him on Memorial Day. Troy appeared on 105.3 The Fan on Monday and offered his thoughts on a few things including the most-talked about Cowboys topic these days, Dak Prescott’s pending contract negotiations.

You can count Aikman among those that believes Dak Prescott will ultimately get his long-term deal with the Cowboys. You can also count him among those that is a huge fan of Prescott.

“I’ve said before, I don’t know if I’ve said it to you guys, I love Dak Prescott. I love everything about him. What Mike came onto this show talking about with regards to me, I feel the same way about Dak. I think he’s a very unselfish player. I wouldn’t say that about everybody. He only wants to win. He truly does not care about his stats. He just wants to win. He’s a great leader. His teammates love him.”

“I saw Sean Lee the other day out here in Santa Barbara, we got to talking about Dak. And I said ‘Is there something I’m missing about this guy? Cause I love him.’ And Sean’s a huge fan as well and everybody in that locker room is. I would pay him. He will get paid. I’m not saying anything the Cowboys don’t already know. They will pay him. He’s going to make a lot of money. And I think he’s going to be the quarterback for the Cowboys for a long, long time and continue to have a great career.”

There is still some uncertainty that Dak Prescott will get a long-term deal with the Cowboys but Aikman feels sure it will happen. We are still roughly six weeks from the July 15th deadline, so there is still a lot of time to get a deal done.
