We have reached a momentous day on the NFL offseason calendar... it is officially schedule release day! The National Football League will drop the when regarding all 256 games that will hopefully be played this season on Thursday evening. If the actual schedule itself doesn’t excite you, then at the very least be happy that we are churning along right through all of the offseason checkpoints.

We have known who the Cowboys are playing since the season ended thanks to the NFL’s rotating schedule. This process will experience a hiccup of sorts when the league officially adds a 17th game to every team’s schedule, but since the league realigned in 2002 we have been on this nice and neat rotation of divisions.

The Cowboys will be playing against the NFC West and AFC North in addition to their annual NFC East games in 2020. Thanks to finishing in second place in their own division they will also take on both the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.

There are always rumors and leaks regarding the schedule release

Like anything else you can always count on rumors and leaks floating out with regards to the NFL schedule. Typically we start to get wind of who the Cowboys will be playing on Thanksgiving, some of their primetime games, you get the picture.

About a month ago we heard that the Cowboys could be opening up the season on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Recently there have been rumors that every team will open their season with their four games against the opposing conference. This would be an effort to have the most meaningless (from a tiebreaker standpoint) games be the earliest in case they need to be wiped out as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will be tracking every rumor and leak that happens regarding the Cowboys schedule throughout the day. Stay tuned for updates.
