When the Dallas Cowboys signed six-time Pro Bowler Gerald McCoy to a three-year, $18.3 million contract, fans were pretty excited. Finally, the team did something to address the the problems they’ve had along the interior defensive line. McCoy is a proven veteran, and with the departure of Maliek Collins in free agency, his presence will be welcomed.
Before McCoy joined the Cowboys, he played nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he was frequently viewed as one of the top defensive tackles in the game. Last offseason, he signed a one-year, $8 million deal to play with the Carolina Panthers. A couple weeks after signing that deal, he went on Undisputed with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, where he was put on the spot about which NFC East quarterback was better - Dak Prescott or Carson Wentz.
You’re not going to like his response.
Skip Bayless: So are you implying that Carson Wentz is better than Dak Prescott?

McCoy is certainly allowed to have his opinion. After all, this Dak/Wentz debate has people all over the place. And McCoy couldn’t have known that a year later he’d be playing for the Cowboys. Just look at the time Dak Prescott took to Twitter to express his frustration with then Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

In fairness to Dak, if you haven’t at one time or another gotten up in arms about something Romo did, you haven’t watched enough games.
McCoy will now get a great chance to go against both Wentz and Prescott as he’ll see the Philadelphia Eagles twice a year and will play against the Cowboys offense in practice. Maybe he’ll sing a different tune after getting an up close look at how each of these quarterbacks play. And while his answer may not have made any friends with Cowboys fans at the time, putting Wentz on his back is a quick way to earn forgiveness.
