Detailed film analysis shows Michael Gallup is a stud, but a few improvements could really elevate his game

Breaking down the game of Cowboys reciever Michael Gallup.

NFL: Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve spent a lot of time discussing the Cowboys passing attack this offseason. Ever since the team drafted CeeDee Lamb, it’s been noted that they quite possibly have the best top receiving trio in the NFL. With Lamb being new to the team, he’s received a lot of attention as the first-round pick. Amari Cooper was also in the news as a free agent before signing a huge deal with the Cowboys.

The other guy is Michael Gallup. The third-round pick from 2018 came on strong last season. He is now among the best #2/#1a receivers in the league. It’s about time to examine his game under the microscope. Our friend, Samuel Gold, did just that with another detailed film analysis. You might remember the previous ones he’s shared with us this offseason, one one Dak Prescott, and another on CeeDee Lamb. You can check out all of his film breakdowns at his YouTube channel.

Here is what Cold had to say about Gallup:

In my latest video breakdown, I wanted to take a deep dive into Michael Gallup’s 2019 season and how he’s developed in his first two years with the Cowboys. I looked at his play-making ability, how he’s a great dig route runner, issues with drops, and how he’s giving a tell away on vertical routes like fades and comebacks with his release. I really like Gallup and with the trio of Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Gallup developing into a star, the Cowboys have one of the best wide receiving corps in the entire NFL. Let me know if you have any questions! Hope y’all enjoy!
