It is officially NFL Top 100 season which, shocker here, has upset some people. We are so deep into this list’s existence that we all know not to take it seriously. By the end of Monday night players 41 through 100 had been revealed and there were five members of the Dallas Cowboys to write home about.
Jaylon Smith, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, Amari Cooper, and Dak Prescott all saw their names called by list of supreme honor. We knew per the list itself that there was one member of America’s Team left and on Tuesday night the mystery man was finally identified.
Ezekiel Elliott was named the 24th best player by the NFL Top 100
There is a large contingency of “running backs don’t matter” on the internet, but even the most staunch believers in it acknowledge that Ezekiel Elliott is a special football player.
As far as the argument against running backs, it is more of a philosophical thing and about the financial side of the game. Anybody who has been paying attention to the NFL knows that Ezekiel Elliott is phenomenal at what he does, and he is so good that this list put him inside the top quarter of players at number 24.

It needs to be said again that this list is extremely questionable at the very best and part of the proof of that is that Ezekiel Elliott is graded as the highest Cowboy on it. While this is meant as no slight towards him, there are very strong arguments for others to be above him.
For what it’s worth, this year’s NFL Top 100 was void of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz so it didn’t get everything wrong. Congratulations to Zeke.
