To say that we are living in unprecedented times is perhaps an understatement given the world as we know it amid Covid-19. Everything we have ever known has been dramatically impacted.
There are bigger things in life than football, of course, but on Tuesday the sport we all know and love was altered greatly when the Big Ten and Pac-12 announced that they will not partake in fall sports this year. Needless to say the ripple effect will be quite large.
The Dallas Cowboys are part of the NFL and the league has come up with what they feel like is a safe enough plan to carry on. Kickoff between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans is just about a month away, and legitimate practices begin this Friday.
A “large number” of Dallas Cowboys players are creating a bubble-like environment
Last week it was reported that the New Orleans Saints were creating a bubble-like environment so as to take every precaution that they could ahead of the season. If there is one thing that we have learned over these last months is that Covid-19 can infiltrate anything, but the idea of a bubble obviously makes sense.
The NBA has successfully operated a bubble environment and we have seen other leagues do so as well. Many have made the case for NFL teams to do this like the Saints, and it appears that the Dallas Cowboys are taking that advice. According to ESPN, there is a Cowboys bubble happening at The Star.
A large number of Dallas Cowboys are now forming their own virtual training camp bubble before on-field practices start Friday and they will begin checking into the Omni Hotel next to the team’s practice facility, league sources tell me and @toddarcher.

The Omni Hotel is part of The Star which means that a bubble at the Cowboys headquarters would encompass all of it. While isolating away from the world is hardly easy, it can logistically be done by America’s Team at their point of operations. Everything that they need is on hand there.
It has been said by many that the team that achieves the most success in the NFL this season will be the one that handles Covid-19 the best. It appears as if the Cowboys are doing everything that they can to ensure that they are as prepared as they can possibly be.
