The Dallas Cowboys practiced on Sunday (while news involving them and Earl Thomas was breaking simultaneously) which is always fun to see. Today marks three weeks until the season opener so needless to say there is a lot to be done.
We are deep enough into camp at this point that some things are starting to show themselves. While there are still a lot of questions there are some legitimate conclusions that we can start to draw. Pet cats are starting to pop, for example.
Here is a compilation of what happened at Dallas Cowboys practice number seven.
The safety position, one way or another, is under construction
Whether the Cowboys acquire Earl Thomas remains to be seen but it seems as if Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is not exactly the undeniable starter.
Cowboys signed Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in March to be their starting safety. Based on camp so far, that won’t be the case. Darian Thompson more impressive so far. This competition will continue to unfold. Clinton-Dix signed a one-year contract with $2.25M fully guaranteed.

This is certainly interesting to say the least.
Tyler Biadasz had his best practice
That’s what we like to see.
Day 7 Practice Notes:
— Kyle Youmans (@Kyle_Youmans) August 23, 2020
-Coop/Gallup just bullied Brown/Chido
-Xavier Woods looks like a game wrecker
-Today would have been the day to be a fly on the wall scheme wise
-NOOCH went 8-for-9 passing
-Biadasz and Williams has their best practices
-Current OTs struggle to block anyone
The center job still seems like Joe Looney’s to lose, but this is very good.
Bradlee Anae is starting to show up
People have been asking. Here he is.
DE Bradlee Anae recorded a would-be sack (“would-be” because play continues) on the same rep that LB Francis Bernard broke up a pass. Both rookies have produced standout moments. On very next rep, Anae recorded another would-be sack. Disruptive day for him.

He fell all the way to the fifth round!
Offensive line depth isn’t a bad thing
It was an off day for some starters.
With the starting tackles out, (RT) Isaac Alarcon, (LT) Terence Steele, (RT) Pace Murphy, (LT-RT) Brandon Knight, (LT) Wyatt Miller got some work.

Get well soon, everyone.
Chidobe Awuzie got some work in the slot
That is very nice to see.
Cowboys are mixing and matching in the secondary with Chido Awuzie getting work at slot cornerback, Reggie Robinson getting work at safety, Darian Thompson working with Woods at safety and HaHa Clinton-Dix with Donovan Wilson

The secondary is clearly something that could change soon.
Aldon Smith got work at the nose
Oh hey look at that.
End of game defensive line had DeMarcus Lawrence, Everson Griffen at end and Aldon Smith at the nose.

Versatility!
All quarterbacks are looking solid
Never a bad thing.
